Gary Davis

Gary L. Davis

Gary L. Davis graduated from the University of Idaho, College of Law in 1990. During law school, Gary was a member of the Moot Court Team and competed in Houston, Texas. Gary was also Assistant Symposium Editor for the Idaho Law Review (1989-1990). After his second year in law school, Gary was an intern Deputy Prosecutor for the Ada County Prosecutor’s Office.

Gary has a BBA in Finance from Boise State University.

Upon graduation from law school, Gary accepted an associate position with Manweiler, Bevis & Cameron, P.A. in Boise, Idaho. Gary’s practice focused on family law, criminal law (misdemeanors and felonies), civil litigation, wills, and probate. In 1995, Gary began his solo career and established Davis Law Office, PLLC. Gary continued his practice in family law, criminal law, business law, and general litigation. In addition to his solo practice, Gary has over 16 years of experience operating a family-owned business.

In March 2012, Gary joined the law firm of Manweiler, Breen, Ball & Davis PLLC, where he continues his practice in business law, including business entity formation, contract disputes, real estate matters, and general business litigation. In addition to his business law practice, Gary maintains a general law practice representing clients in family law matters, personal injury, criminal law, estate, and probate matters.

Abby Hoskisson

Abby Hoskisson

Abby grew up on her grandparent’s dairy farm in rural Lincoln County, Idaho. She graduated from Concordia University School of Law, where she was active in the Student Bar Association and a member of the Moot Court team, traveling to San Francisco to compete in the American Bar Association’s Regional Moot Court competition. Abby also attended University College Dublin in Dublin, Ireland, to study International Children’s Rights, Asylum and Refugee Law, and European Union Law.

Abby has a BS in Business Management from Western Governors University.

Abby joined Manweiler, Breen, Ball & Davis in July 2016. Prior to joining the firm, she spent 10 years working for the Ada County Clerk’s Office, 5 of which were spent working directly with Hon. Russell A. Comstock handling family law cases. She is licensed in Idaho and Oregon and handles divorce, custody, paternity, child support, guardianship, adoption/termination and domestic violence cases, criminal defense, appellate practice, business formations, and civil litigation, including contract litigation, monetary judgments, and non-compete issues.

Abby was born in Cedar City, Utah, and raised in Dietrich, Idaho. She moved to Boise in 1999.

Russell

Russell A. Comstock

After a lengthy career on the Magistrate bench in Idaho, Russ has returned to the practice of law in an “Of Counsel” role with Davis & Hoskisson, PLLC.   He specializes in domestic relations cases involving complex assets and jurisdiction issues, as well as offer consulting services on family law cases.

Russ was a Magistrate Judge for 21 years in Ada County assigned exclusively to a family law docket.  After retiring in 2016, he continued to work as a Senior Judge, primarily in family law court.  During his tenure on the bench, Russ was active as a leader in the development of family court policy recommendations to the Idaho Supreme Court, including leading a collaborated effort to develop and implement the Idaho Rules of Family Law Procedure.  He was a frequent lecturer at judicial conferences, and at Continuing Legal Education programs for the Idaho State Bar.  Russ also taught a course in family law as an Adjunct Professor for Concordia School of Law in Boise.

Russ is a graduate of the University of Idaho College of Law and has been a member of the Idaho State Bar since 1984.

Russ is the recipient of  George G. Granata Award for Professionalism, Idaho Supreme Court 2014; Service Award, Idaho State Bar 2014; Award of Distinction, Idaho State Bar Family Law Section 2015; and the Legacy Award, Idaho Magistrate Judges Association 2019.
